What we don’t/can’t see and understand within ourselves, we project onto others. The opposite sign, Libra, is the sign of the “ Other”, the sign of projection. That’s why it’s easier – as a first step to healing – to project the 50% onto the other.Ĭhiron is now in Aries, the sign of “ I am”. If it doesn’t hurt, if we don’t feel comfortable, it doesn’t happen.Īt first, it’s almost impossible, because it goes against our survival instinct. Going deep inside ourselves and admitting there’s 50% of us that is selfish and cruel is NOT easy. The more we try to distance ourselves from that 50% we find undesirable, the more split we become at an identity level, and the more we distance ourselves from healing, which can only take place through the process of reconciliation. Chiron can be the Wounded Wounderjust as much he is the Wounded Healer.Ĭhiron, the half-man, half-horse centaur, is a symbol of the duality we need to reconcile within ourselves. However, to get there, we have to go through a painful process of reconciliation. Chiron – The Wounded Healer, The Wounded WounderĬhiron is known as the Wounded Healer, and it is associated with the process of healing by exposing one’s deepest wound. We need Mars’ ‘selfish’ drive to live and fulfill its personal agenda.Īnd as frustrating as it is to live with other people that have their own Mars agenda, this is just part – and a prerequisite – of life.

Without Mars, there will be no more “I”, there will be no more life. There is a reason why Mars rules Aries, the 1st sign of the zodiac. The more we try to shut it down, the angrier Mars gets. Mars In Aries – “I Am”Īs long as Mars will circle around the Sun, personal will will exist. However, every time we are convinced we know what that “greater good” is, everytime we believe we have the right to ask other people to live their lives the way we believe they should, we become a spin doctor. If in the first case the selfish motivations are pretty straight forward, in the 2nd, they are less evident, because the approach is motivated by the “greater good”. This is wounding (Chiron) by putting one’s personal will (Mars) first.Īnd then we have the other approach: “ Everyone should wear masks/get vaccinated/laws should be enforced”, even if that means to limit other people’s personal freedom (Mars). There are two approaches that take the concept of the spin doctor to the extreme: people who don’t take measures to curb the spread of disease for purely egotistical reasons “ I do what I wan t”. Let’s take pandemic/vaccines for example, since these are important topics at the moment. We too, are spin doctors, and Mars conjunct Chiron is an opportunity for introspection and awareness, to understand why, how and when that happens.īefore we blame politicians and journalists for being “sellouts” we have to ask how much of a spin doctor we are ourselves. We have spin doctors everywhere: politicians, government officials, lobbyists, journalists, salespeople and pretty much everyone who is knowingly distorting reality for personal gain. The spin doctor takes money to flip reality and make people in power even more powerful, even if that goes against other people’s personal interests. “Spin doctor” is also a metaphor for someone (a PR, consultant, or spokesperson) who is employed to give a favorable interpretation of events to the media, on behalf of a political party. Before healing can take place, Mars will spin the knife and stab through the pain. And “spin” because Chiron is stationary retrograde, changing direction. “Doctor” because Chiron is the Wounded Healer. Mars conjunct Chiron is the “ Spin Doctor”. Mars in Aries and Mars retrograde will have a strong Chiron – wounding and healing– flavor. Because Mars goes retrograde later this year, Mars will spend a record of 6 months in Aries, however, no other planet, except for Chiron, will be in Aries. Chiron is the only planet that ‘shares’ the sign of Aries with Mars.Because Chiron is stationary, the upcoming Mars-Chiron cycle will be even more intense. Slow-moving planets such as Chiron are most powerful when stationary. It occurs when Chiron is stationary retrograde. It occurs only once every 2 years, marking the beginning of a new Mars-Chiron cycle. This is one of the important transits of 2020 because: On July 14th, Mars is conjunct Chiron at 9° Aries.
